Uptown Yoga Teacher Training in Dallas
December 26, 2018
If someone were to ask you to “create space” – Would you know a way? Do you even know what that means?
When we walk in through the door at a yoga studio, the intention isn’t usually to “create space”. It’s for something else. I need to lose weight. I need to stretch. I need to relieve stress. Bottom line is that there is a problem and for some reason, you’ve been convicted to believe the answer is yoga.
You don’t know what to do or what to think but that’s usually where the yoga teacher comes in. Sometimes, there’s a certain yoga posture that they introduce or it’s a quote they read in class. Sometimes it’s a story they tell or you find that whatever it is, that idea, quote, story, or pose seems to reach deep down and it clicks. And just maybe, sometimes, you find what you were looking for – the answer.
The teacher may not always know what you’re thinking or what you want, but they do have the intention to give you a place to sort those things out on your own mentally and physically. This is what is known in the yoga community as “creating space”.
Yoga Teacher Training in Dallas
If you’ve been practicing for a long time, you’ve probably reached a point where you’ve seen how yoga has transformed yourself and now want to know how it happened. You see others who you want to help. But don’t know where to begin. There’s this insatiable desire to know more. This is where yoga teacher training comes in. You will find many studios who offer yoga teacher training in Dallas.
At Uptown Yoga, the curriculum itself is designed to get you set up to teach a Vinyasa yoga class. But there IS more. Yoga Teacher Training is a resource to open the door to the greatest connection between the body, mind, and the true self. To be able to bridge all the components is like being confronted with the phrase “Who Am I?”. It’s totally cliche. But, if you’re still reading this, there’s a small tiny part of you that wants to have a response to that question.
The class is hard. There’s reading, writing, a test, essays, projects, and lots and lots of yoga. It’s like a college course. The demand and energy it takes to go through yoga teacher training is not easy, but well worth it. You will delve into your own personal psyche, listen to others as they explore the same things and see how it all can be incorporated through the practice of yoga. You will laugh. You will cry. You will teach.
And one day, you will create space.
