Common misconception is that you must have an advanced physical practice to join. No pre-requisite is required, just a willingness to learn.
108 Sun Salutations on New Year's Day

108 is an auspicious and sacred number in yogic traditions. It is a long-standing practice at the change of seasons to flow through 108 Sun Salutations, honoring the sacred cycles within and without. With its wide range of movements, it has been said that Surya Namaskara contains an entire practice within it, and the seamless repetition of 108 salutes creates a deeply meditative state of being and a connection to the peace of the present moment.
Within the support of community, students will move and breathe as one as the teachers from Uptown Yoga serve as guides through the practice.
Appropriate for all levels, there is no pressure to complete the entire 108. You may give yourself permission to rest or to modify as your energy requires.

Sound Healing Training + Certification

Step into your power and share the magic of sound!
Whether you’re looking to simply learn about sound healing, how to incorporate it into your offerings, or if you have the ambition to begin hosting your own sound baths, join us for this weekend intensive with Danielle Goldfarb to learn about and play various instruments used in a sound bath, while immersing in a transformative sound healing experience.
You'll receive several hours of hands-on experience with several sound healing instruments including multiple Paiste planetary tuned gongs and 432 hertz singing bowls, different kinds of chimes and other high vibrational instruments. These trainings are set up to be a deeply healing experience to help activate the healer within.
Becoming a powerful sound healer is so much more than just learning how to play the crystal bowls and gong. It’s also learning to:
Deeply listen to and track your own body
Tune into and track the room
Sit and relish in the discomfort and peace of empty space
Take up a lot of space, to be seen and heard
Help people feel profoundly better
Help yourself heal through sound
You’ll also learn:
How to hold a space for individuals, groups and facilitate your own sound bath
How to master the crystal bowls and align yourself with each frequency
Techniques and application of striking multiple Planetary Tuned gongs
Spiritual significance of these instruments
How to implement mantras and intentions in sound healing
Science behind sound healing
Other sound instruments to include in your sound bath
No prior experience or instruments required.
We will have multiple instruments for you to learn from including your own set of crystal bowls that will be available for purchase at the end of training.
A certificate of completion will be given after the training.

Stuck in a rut? Why is it our old patterns continue to repeat despite our best efforts to change? Can we instead use an ancient practice that cultivates being effort-less to achieve...whatever we desire to achieve?
Come rest in Enlightened Sleep, or Yoga Nidra, and plant the seed of your resolve in the deep soil of your unconscious mind. You will leave feeling rested and restored, with the knowledge that you have indeed advanced yourself closer to manifesting the change you wish.
We will begin with an asana practice designed to prepare your body, mind and nervous system for rest and work on the process of Sankalpa (or Resolution). The second part of the workshop is devoted to cultivating effortless awareness in the Para Yoga Nidra practice for Sankalpa.
Please bring any props you need to help you rest comfortably on the floor for the 40 minutes or so that you will be on your back. ** (For the practice of effortless awareness,the body must feel completely comfortable during the practice so the mind can let go. Props that support the body such as a blanket (or blankets!), a neck pillow, and/or a bolster are highly recommended. At the very least something for the head to rest on is essential.)
