Giving Back

At the heart of our studio is the practice of karma yoga or selfless service.



We believe our practice extends far beyond the mat and is meant to inspire compassion, generosity, and meaningful action. Through community initiatives, we create opportunities for our students to support the collective well-being

and healing of our local and global communities.

Holiday Helpers

Every Christmas since 2018, the Uptown Yoga community has come together to support Mosaic Family Services. Mosaic provides 24-hour crisis intervention, safe housing for survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, and dedicated services for refugees. Through legal advocacy, counseling, child advocacy, and job skills training, they help individuals and families build safer, stronger futures.


During the holidays, we collect gift cards to provide families with essentials that are often overlooked in traditional donation drives, including groceries and household  supplies. By giving families the flexibility to choose what they need most, we help preserve their dignity while offering support rooted in compassion and respect.

Dallas Cat Lady

A few times a year, Uptown Yoga hosts Kitty Yoga classes to support local animal rescues.


Our partner Dallas Cat Lady, is near and dear to our hearts. Their mission is to reduce the homeless cat population through fostering, adoptions, and trap-neuter-release programs in the Dallas area. Not only is the class incredibly cute and fun, it helps to socialize their adoptable kittens and allows their personalities to shine in our relaxed environment. 


Students are encouraged to discuss adoption and foster options after class or bring donations of blankets, food, and other necessities.

Spicy Whiskers Rescue

Our Kitty Yoga events also directly support Spicy Whiskers Rescue. Their mission is to provide a safe haven for abandoned and abused animals, dedicating their resources to rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding loving homes for every pet in their care. In addition to adoptions, they manage a vital trap, neuter, and release program for wild, feral cats in our community. 100% of all donations from our designated Kitty Yoga events go directly to supporting their ongoing, life-saving efforts.
