During the training for my first marathon, yoga provided me with the healing I needed for an injured knee. Simultaneously, I discovered balance, strength, increased range of motion, and a blueprint for training the body and mind. While my teaching offers kinship to fellow runners and athletes, I also come to the class with a deep understanding of the balancing act modern day yogis feel each day. I spent 19 years ascending the corporate ladder to Vice Presidency of a national financial institution and am a mother of two.
My teacher training began with vinyasa yoga in Denver, Colorado. Through teaching yoga, you metaphorically become closer to people’s bodies, their joints, organs, muscles, and connective tissues. I wanted to delve deeper into how I could help people feel great and reclaim ownership of their health. This led me to my studies at Integrative Nutrition (an affiliate of Columbia University) and continued teacher training in a variety of yoga modalities, including Ashtanga and Iyengar. I am currently studying under the tutelage of Tias Little in Prajna Yoga’s Advanced Teacher Training.
