I was fortunate to begin a steady yoga practice when I moved to Dallas
in 1997. Coming from a Zen meditation practice I found the moving
meditations of flow yoga liberating and ecstatic. From that time on I
have watched yoga flourish in this city and in my own heart. I have
a deep respect for the versatility of yoga methods that allow each
student to develop along their unique path. I have studied many
different yoga styles including Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyassa, Anusara,
Tibetan Heart Yoga and have learned lessons and found joys in all. In
2007, I received my first training in prenatal yoga teaching
techniques (along with my 200 hour level certification) with Ginger
Garner, who combines her wisdom and knowledge of healing as both a
Yoga and Physical Therapist. The following year I studied with
Bridget Foley, a senior Forrest Yoga instructor and trained Douala.
Yoga offers moms-to-be powerful yet kind support for the challenges
that come with bringing a new life into being. Compassion and joy are
the foundation to my practice, and from there I design my classes to
help students strengthen, heal and open physically. The most exciting
reward from the practice I find as my students grow into deeper
self-awareness and serenity.
