I've been practicing yoga off and on since 1998. I spent many years running, and enjoyed participating in 5 and 10K races. After my first and last marathon in November 2005, I decided to run less and devote more time and energy towards yoga, increasing my practice to 3 and 4 times per week. After several weeks, my muscles became leaner, longer, and stronger and my mind became calmer and more focused. What began as way to stay healthy and fit, evolved into a wonderful metamorphosis. I wanted to share this life changing experience with others and became a certified Power Yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance in December 2006. I continue my yoga education attending teacher training programs and workshops learning all I can and sharing it with my students. I am very passionate about yoga and love teaching at Uptown Yoga. The positive energy and beautiful room allows me to help students bring serenity to the mind, and balance and strength to the body.
