The first time I came to Uptown Yoga, I knew that I belonged there. I hear many people say that, and it is true. Those from advanced to beginner and all walks of life feel like they can come to Uptown Yoga to explore, strengthen, deepen, or relax. Inside you feel the energy of Dallas, the warmth of the community of people, and the support of the instructors. Basically, lots of laughs, smiles and sweat!

During the training for my first marathon, yoga provided me with the healing I needed for an injured knee. Simultaneously, I discovered balance, strength, increased range of motion, and a blueprint for training the body and mind. While my teaching offers kinship to fellow runners and athletes, I also come to the class with a deep understanding of the balancing act modern day yogis feel each day. I spent 19 years ascending the corporate ladder to Vice Presidency of a national financial institution and am a mother of two.

My teacher training began with vinyasa yoga in Denver, Colorado. Through teaching yoga, you metaphorically become closer to people's bodies, their joints, organs, muscles, and connective tissues. I wanted to delve deeper into how I could help people feel great and reclaim ownership of their health. This led me to my studies at Integrative Nutrition (an affiliate of Columbia University) and continued teacher training in a variety of yoga modalities, including Ashtanga and Iyengar. I am currently studying under the tutelage of Tias Little in Prajna Yoga's Advanced Teacher Training.
